Commercially available dilution systems have proven themselves in practice for diluting solid aerosols in the particle size range of approx. 2 nm to 20 µm. Dilution systems often act as separators in the dilution of droplet aerosols with droplet diameters above approx. 3 µm. In the article, the authors reveal the principles of dilution systems and present a new development of Palas, especially for droplet aerosols.
